Bit of an experiment this. Found the small cartridge recently, but had the shell case for years, think it came back from the Falklands. Thought i'd have a play on this miserable Sunday morning, quite pleased with how it has turned out but could possibly do with some more work.

All C&Cs welcome

Thanks for looking

Hi Den,

V1 for my eye's I like the mono effect on this metal.

Den you can bring out those scratches and marks a touch more if you use "Elements/PS etc". Make a copy and just above your layer pallet you will have a box with your "Blend Modes", go into this and select "Overlay". This makes dark colours darker and light colours lighter but in a subtle way, plus you can reduce the opacity if the effect is to much. I left it at full strength and can see how it's made the marks stand out, that's the only adjustment I made.

Den this will work for your bird/wildlife shots as well, any area's you don't want to alter you simply remove using a brush and layer mask.

Take care
Martin

I'm with Martin, great 'shot', "Please excuse the pun". the monochrome version certainly gives the image a lift. A little work needed to make a good image into a great one.
