This is quite a capture but it has a real blue cast to it.
I've made some adjustments using curves which has removed most of it but there's also a lot of blue outlining around the edges of the subject which, for some reason, I can't seem to get rid of.
I'm guessing that you had the lens set at its longest length to get this and shooting against the sky hasn't helped.
Also it's pretty soft. Again, that's probably down to the conditions in which you took the shot.
I've uploaded a mod. in which I've had a go at rectifying the above.

You're right. I had to use my zoom all the way out @ 840. It was getting dark so I was shooting pretty fast just to get some pix before it got dark.
Thank you for you input. I've been told not to use my digital zoom but i couldn't have got that close with just optical. Oh well, I'm still learning. Some day I might be as good as the pro's.

I'd tell you that too!
I use a Fuji S5700 which does a surprisingly good job once you've mastered it's limitations. One of which is the poor rendition using the digital part of the zoom.
It's far from completely useless but in a lot of circumstances, when you've got used to it, this will mean most of the time.
I can generally get better images using the optical zoom and cropping the bit I want in Photoshop.

Thank you Bren and Frank. You've been very helpful to me about the Digital Zoom. I was not aware of the consequences of digital zoom. I was told not to use Digital Zoom but not the reason why. So I just kept using it. Thanks for explaining the reason. I do want quality photos and will follow your advice and only use optical zoom.
