Another attempt at a mono, this time with a shot of Scalebar Force waterfall taken a few weeks ago. Still practising with my mono conversions so all comments would be appreciated.

Not sure how much time I'll get on the site over the weekend so have a good one (in case it's not obvious I finish for the weekend today Smile ). Off to Focus on Monday as well so may bump in to some of you there.

Thanks for looking.

Darren.

Thanks guys. It looks dark to me too Brian but I'm at work too, I'm sure it wasn't that dark last night when I was working on it at home :-| Will check tonight when I get in.

Darren.

Doesn't look dark on my screen Darren but the botton falls look a little washed out.Excellent composition all the same.

I like it. We often see these in color. It's refreshing to see a change.

I'm no mono expert Darren so take my comments with a hand full of SAXA.
The comp is spot-on, better than your previous from here I feel with the fall centre back and tree in third then done to the three smaller ones at the front- I'll note this if I ever get over there.
However, I think the shadows are a bit too dark and the harsh glare from the whites at the foot of the falls all seem a bit too contrasty and austere.
If I could give three-quarters of a click you'd get it.
Smile
Enjoy the trip to focus, are you splashing the cash on anything tasty?

Like the contrast here in this image - works so well beacuse of all these waterfalls which are so light and bright.
Normally I would like to see more detailing in the shadows - but for this image I agree with you to stick to that strong contrast and deep darks!

Thanks for the comments everyone, appreciated. Just got back home and checked this again, looks much better than at work, not too dark on this monitor which is good as this is what I processed it on Smile

John, the rocks in the foreground are dark but this is the look I wanted to get the contrast with the white of the falls, granted some of the whites are blown which I may revisit as I don't think they are in the original. I appreciate your opinion though and you should take a trip there yourself.

Darren.
