Serenade me with rays of moonlight and I will bathe in their ambience.
Please look at this in large format. I hope you agree that the grain kind of adds to the atmosphere. I imagine that this is because photographers of old would have struggled to shoot at such low light levels.
This is an interesting photograph for me as it represents my first attempt at preventing artifacts from repeated saving of files. Most of the editing has been done within the confines of lghtroom2. I believe the lightroom 2 waits until all the changes have been completed before saving the image which decreases the amount of degradation vi repeated alterations in elements.
I have set up a beauty dish with honeycomb grid reflector in the center at an angle of 45 degrees and slightly forward to the model. A hair light has been exposed 2 stops higher than the key light at F11.
As this was a raw file it has been post sharpened in lightroom. eyes brightened, dress brought up in detail and then finally a gradient used to give the look of a moonlight.
.
I hope you like it. Look at my other work from the series and you will realise why I oped for the blue theme. As pretty as the model is, you can only have so many of one particular outfit. I have used photoshop and lightroom2 to create an image that is somewhat different.
Please look at this in a large format to appreciate.

Cheers Sherring. I had originally planned not to shoot too many variations of the same outfit however I think by using photoshop lighting effects it has been quite a good series.
Very clever and interesting use of the light alone with Lightroom to get the effect you wanted. Its worked very well indeed....and again, good explanation. Thanks! ![]()
