Two more shield bugs that I found lurking on the parsnip leaves at the weekend.
Two rather handsome looking 'Shield Bugs' Carol, certainly very distinguishable by their shape and form. The first photograph certainly shows of their rather fine display of colour, however I prefer image number two more so because of the rich and lush green colour.
We've only just started to get these in the UK Carol, this species is native to Africa but can be found all over Europe now and has over the last few years started to creep into the UK.....If you want to find out more look up Nezara viridula - Southern Green Shieldbug.....Nice image BTW.
Lovely images Carol and again interesting beasties.
Two great shots Carol, the level of detail is terrific. Do they bite?
Wonderful set... Lovely paterns on the back!
2 excellent images Carol, super detail in both,
Didn't realise shield bugs came in so many varieties. Two fine close-up captures.
2 colourful little characters here Carol. Like the greens in V2. Moira
A very handsome shield bug !
We have no shield bugs at the moment, I think they couldn't cope with total dehydration of their food
I'd love to see some more before the end of the season.
2 handsome lads for sure ... and you have parsnips .... wonderful
Two beautifully detailed images, shield bugs are so fascinating.
Funny thing Carol, I nearly put a shield bug on this morning but changed my mind at the last minuet, it's a good job as yours are much nicer than mine! I think that say's it don't lol. nice Colourful couple, regards Leon.
Two crackers Carol but for me V2 has the edge.
You must have the world's leading collection of Shield Bug images as well as of the bugs themselves! These have wonderful colours and marking.

Wonderful markings, Carol, so much more interesting than the green ones I find on my runner beans.
Well captured Carol.
Two great macros Carol with V2 taking my fancy today.

How big are these? During the summer................... Well I think it was a day in june I found some tiny little bugs on some snap dragons in the garden, about a quarter the size of a ladybird (or less),and they were yellow, never seen them before
