Many thanks to Walter and Adrian for the UAs for Mrs Chaffinch and to all of you who looked and commented. Pamela had me splitting sides.

______
for two weeks I have hardly been able to take any pictures. It is either raining, raining hard, drizzling or dark grey. Trees don't even cast Saturday shadows. Well this is what the forest looks like on the way to work before the machines have been. I will put a gloomier version in no2.

Hope you like it a bit and I for one hope to see some light one of these days.

Three excellent versions of this shot through the forest, Annette: I have been back and forth through the three and perhaps V 3 would go into 3rd. place as the higher contrast reduces the effect of the slight mistiness that appears to be clinging to the ground. Then of V 1 and 2, I can't decide for sure, but V 1 possibly just ahead, but little in it.
I like your composition by including the bog in the f/g which provides both a horizontal balance to the vertical trees and a reflective surface.
Sorry, I do go on a bit at times.
Ronnie.

Seems all wrong France getting weather like this! Thought it was only us poor souls in the UK who got non-stop downpours! It has, however, produced some wonderfully moody atmosphere for these images. I'm going for V1 though all work well.

Actually, this would make a killer contender for this month's comp themed, 'Nature'.
