On my first visit to Malham in Jan, I took a shot similar to this for HDR but stuffed up by leaving the camera set to auto focus rather than manual, so I got some alignment issues with the shots. I posted a pseudo HDR back then though but always vowed to go back and get it 'properly' ... so here it is.

Janet's Foss, nr Gordale Scar on the outskirts of Malham, North Yorkshire.

5 shots [-2, -1, 0, +1, +2 EVs], was enough to cover the Dynamic Range here. Processed in C1, HDR'd in Photomatix and 'finished' in PhotoShop.

EDIT: A weak thumb but it's all there in the LARGE version ;-D

Hope you're all having a great Easter. Please feel free to leave any comments you feel neccessary.

Cheers for your time thus far,
Paul

Bags of detail, and I like the variety of greens, good sense of water movement too.

Cheers C and Tom, don't expect this one to do that well as it won't appeal to all, but I like it and feel that I achieved what I set out to do with it ;-P

See no-one has asked about the title yet!

Couldn't say without looking at your originals Daz, try reducing the 'strength', you can always get the result back in PhotoShop using curves ... cheers for the comments though mate!!

Thanks too Mike and Rob, cheers for your time guys.

Paul

I'm not a big HDR fan, however i reckon you have put it to good use here bringing out all that detail in the shadow area's, well done.

Cheers Neil, it's how you process things that normally dictates whether it's someones 'bag' or not, I try to keep things as real as possible when tone mapping though.

Packed full of wonderful detail Paul.

Chickened out of walking across the log when I went there. Very slippy, and not about to risk my camera equipment, although I'm sure I could have got a decent composition from there!!

HDR wise, this is spot on IMHO. Other than that, the thing that strikes me about this image, is it's detail and 3D nature (not just the tree trunk). Great shot(s) and processing Paul.

Thanks guys, glad this one has got a good bit of interest. Sorry for my short response last night, but I had had a fair bit of beer celebrating our win at the Golf club for the first 'major' of the season. I was obviously sober enough though to think it more prudent not to try and write something clever, which I would look at an regret this morning.

Anyway, enough of my waffle, thanks everyone for your comments and clicks, enjoy the rest of your day ... now where's the Paracetamol :-(

Paul

@ Paul,
... the Paracetamol is here... I use and I need it...*gg*

Have a great day too

Opens a few doors Rob and gives you an extra option or two, especially where filters are nigh on impossible to use.
