Portraiture is not my forte! I was asked to do this garden portrait of a mother and son.. I think it is OK(ish) but would welcome and suggestions. ![]()
It was done with the short end of my tele zoom.

Mmmm. For what it is worth:
I think the light coloured bare skin on his left arm takes the attention away. And her right arm is cut too close to the elbow. The charm of the photo is in the nice expressions on their faces.
Try cropping the photo just under the zipper on his jacket and crop both sides to only just include their outside shoulders. Then try the effect of bringing the left and right edges further in bit by bit. Finally try the effect of cutting so that her hair and his outside collar are only just included. I think his eyes will be about 2 thirds of the way up the photo and that will help.
I think it a shame that they were not closer together so that there was no gap between them. This would have added to the desired feeling of the shot and also made the composition easier to manage.
