...wiv a hover (-fly, that is).
Bees tend to clear off out of my way pretty darned quick, and it's not even as if I like honey! But this fly hung around for me to capture during a recent walk by the Tyne. No macro lens in my bag this time as it was an exercise walk rather than a photographic adventure.

A wonderful opportunity well taken Bill.
Lovely capture of the fly at work & the rose is great too.

Congrats Bill you captured it beautifully. No bees but there is a hover. No macro lens but you managed it well. Beautiful light and flower detail.

Your portfolio becomes more horticltural by the minute which for someone known for not taking an interest is quite something Wink, this is yet another good addition.

Some nice detail in the large version anyway, so no problem about the lens.

I would have thought an exercise walk would warrant plenty gear Bill. After all.these SAS chappies walk 20 miles with a big bag of rocks !!!! Mind you.I doubt they would stop to take a pic of a fly on a flower.
Nicely lit, with nice soft shadows and lines.Good comp 'too with the out of focus greenery.

Nicely detailed Bill, good dof. Excellent quirky title to match.

There's that scary word Bill. "Excercise". I get plenty of that putting my socks on in the morning and eating my breakfast, taking a walk is going a bit far. LOL.
Great shot by the way. Nice colour.

stunning photograph - all elements are how the should be ie great and the little winged chap adds a nice detail and must have be vane so stayed around seeing the big lens approaching - the bee will be kicking itself several times when it finds out it wasn't in this great artwork Grin

definitely an image one would happily return several times to look at again Grin
