Amsterdam No. 5

Happy Sunday all!

I hope this conveys the amount of bikes there are in Amsterdam...and I thought Oxford was full of em! This is a multi-storey bike park near the train station in the city. How on earth you remember which bike is yours I will never fathom.

Thanks for all previous comments and clicks. As expected, yesterdays' slightly bombed...but then perhaps my SOH is too osbcure!?!

Even the thumbnail said Amsterdam! Careful scrutiny of your photo suggests that two thirds or more of the machines are identical and that most of the rest are the same, too, with the embellishment of a plastic bag to protect the carrier. It's quite an amazing sight.

Almost a mono shot, with little splashes of colour. I like the blue jeans walking up the grey steps behind. I love Amsterdam, but I do remember it as being more bike-friendly than pedestrian-friendly. With these numbers I suppose that's understandable.

I think you got a great angle on this, and the foreground bikes on their sides is an inspired addition. Like Bill, I noticed how very similar they all are. I ride a bike and, when I park it, I always notice the obvious differences between mine and others. I'm not sure I'd find mine amongst this lot. I like the way someone has shoved theirs between some others, obviously couldn't find a parking space. I lived in Oxford at one time, and the rows of parked bicycles was part of the scenery there.

Great shot. I love the little baskets on the handlebars - brought wonderful memories of zooming around Amsterdam city centre with my pen friend pedaling and me holding on for dear life.

Great detail and structure Lucy - looks like there has been a serious accident in the foreground!

Blimey!! Don't drop anything here. If you bend over to pick it up someone might park a bike where you probably didn't want it parking Smile
