Not up to the standard of Sidney or Lillian but its my first one so I am quite excited.
Thanks for looking.
Regards. - gary
gary, a perfect bird image!
Super image Gary, great detail,
I'd be excited as well if this was mine gary,,very nice mate,,
Liking the backgroumnd as well.
I would be excited too Gary, he is wonderful. The colours jump out at you.
Is he a juvenile with that short tail or it that normal?
Can understand your excitement - I've always wanted to bag one also!
Glowing colours and a good catchlight in the eye.
No distactions in b/g.
I am no expert so can not answer you sorry Jocelia.
This is an adult male....
Punchy colours, beautifully sharp image. Too central in the frame, crop to move him to the left and it will look much better. (rule of thirds) nice bit of catchlight too ....nice capture.
Always great to see one of these delightful animals ,
A superb image.
Don't be so hard on yourself Gary ! This is a beautiful bird and an excellent photo you have here !! Very well done
Excellent capture, well done
a real beauty Gary, nice one.
I have never seen one, never mind try to capture a shot, Gary: you have done pretty well for a first attempt.
unfortunately a lot of pixelation so i guess that you have had ot crop in from the original somewhat, but still conisderably better than my own - i hope that this is the first of many for you
Well done mate, no doubt you will be back dressed in your camo gear to snap him again. Will you be seeking some advice from the Big O or will a few sprays of your trusty Lynx Africa suffice?!
One more than me!!. I'm still waiting to even SEE one...
nice to get a first gary and this ones a cracker nice one
You certainly have a brilliant shot of a male Kingfisher Gary.
The tail is always that short, whatever the age of bird
Be proud of yourself you have done well and that camera has no noise
superbly captured!! look forward to more
All I have ever seen is a flash of blue skimming the river... I'm envious just of the opportunity.
How fortunate you are to even have seen one of these wonderful little birds! This is a lovely image with glowing colours and catch-light to the eye. I look forward to more!!
I spend a lot of time outdoors, and I have never even seen one. So well done for actually capturing one.
I'm certain there will be many more!
Super colours and detail.
Excellent and wonderful capture, very well done,
Well done you Gary, you never forget your first one
Large is excellent Gary, I have only ever seen them flashing past at a rate of knots, far too fast for me. to capture. Superb colour and detail. Love it. One enlarged for the wall at home Gary?
Really well isolated from the b/g and pin sharp. Lovely.

I would be well chuffed with this one Gary.
