After spending to much money at Focus, basically new lights thought I should try them out, Have to say quite pleased with my first result, this is straight out of the camera, so really happy with it. Thoughts comments welcome.

hi mom and a great picture
Really good, lovely ballance of light on your mums face and the background is bright without being overpowering, nice one.
What was the set up with the lights in the end?
Very good! The thumbnail doesn't set the expectaions right.
Looks like a good investment to me. Would be useful to know what lighting set-up you used.
thanks guys, one light was in the lastolite hilite at about 1/8th power and the other at 45 degrees to to the sitter also at 1/8th power fired into a white brolly. f8 and 125th. I small portable lights so bought the Kenro plat panel lights and am pleased, will up load anouther image tomorrow using a black velvet background with 2 lights at 45 degrees each side of the sitter.
couple of mods for u !!
Looks fine to me.
This is spot on Trace. The skins tone came out really well.
Certainly does impress over and above what the thumbnail offers.
She looks like a lovely lady, she has a wonderful smile!! (I've just learnt how to do mods, so I hope you don't mind me putting my 2p's worth!)
thanks for all the mods and comments, yes she is a lovely lady, a mum in a billion. I'm sure we all say that about our mum's but this one is real special.
I would be pleased with the result, - the lighting works well, - now you can experiment!
Joined the crowd and added a mod, - a little glamour treatment for Mum, - hope she like it!
Thanks Willie, like it alot, sure Dad will approve of the Glamour treatment
Lovely portrait Tracy will we be seeing you at foxton?

A well organised head and shoulders shot, shooting, the older woman, just off on the left, my wife wont pose anymore, she was a model too...Hmmm... great to see it work so softly executed and so well cropped. Great shot. Chen.
