A strange mix of what looks like a uniform and a lovely hat and fun bag!
The glass rail unfortunately spoils the girl's head.

hi,
i like the colours in this, the diagonals and streaked background. i love the hat and the bag and the fact she is looking into the bag.

im less sure about the fact that her face is totally obsured. also unsure about the identity badge whicg im sure id clone away.

interesting shot though and stands well above a lot

Phil

Colours are very nice but I am afraid I do not like the inclusion of the main diagonal across the lady's eyes; the lower one I find is OK but not this one. I feel that had you waited the lady's face might have been available to you without the diagonal bannister, not being there myself of course I could be totally wrong, but a face up would have helped overall.

I don't thing the lady is as sharp all over as she could be and looking at your EXIF, the use of full aperture is alien to me for this kind of shot. Using 180mm I feel sure that you will only have about 150mm from front to back in sharp focus. With the 180mm lens you will not need 1/1000sec (unless you have shaky hands) so you could have got away with 1/500sec and the shift to f8 might have just have made the difference. Failing that of course there is always the opportunity to raise your ISO setting upwards.

Its a moment in time well captured. If you had time to plan it, you could have shot it when she was higher in the stairs, moving the glass edge below her face, but this is a candid, so it is what it is.

You can remove that line if you want, - careful cloning can do it, and for me, I would think the white balance can be warmer, and the exposure a little brighter. I think the reflections from metal and glass might have caused your metering to under expose just a little.

Ive loaded a mod to show what I mean.

Regards

Willie

A well captured shot, to be sure. Hidden face, blurred background, and the hands becoming the centre of interest. The diagonal lines add an almost vertiginous dimension to the shot. On the other hand, the gold strap over the left arm is not only confusing, it is distracting. The hat, the white blouse retain sharpness and colour, whereas the other colours seem to be a bit off. In conclusion, if the hands and the bag are the focus of attention, they ought to be worked on. I won't repeat the technical counsels above, they are obviously to the point.
