Hi Heng, Its a well attempted shot, though i think your focus has gone onto the tree with the squirrel (?) coming as a bit soft. Always a good idea to post your camera settings when uploading here to the Critique Gallery it helps to understand what's going on in the Image.
Going on i think the composition could also be improved a bit by cropping from the left and putting the squirrel on a thirds intersect, done a mod and also increased the contrast and saturation a bit and then applied the warming filter in PS
Cheers and hope this helps
Hello, Heng. To be honest, I didn't notice the squirrel at first, and thought you were going to "build your home" from the trees. Obviously a squirrel's coat is just the right colour for camouflaging itself within trees, so this isn't an easy shot to get just right and still have attention on the animal. I agree with what has been said, the middle tree trunk is in better focus than anything else. This shot would have worked better if there had been just one tree with the squirrel on, and then there would have been a light background behind it and it wouldn't have blended in as much as it does with the tree behind it. But your focus needed to be on the squirrel, and preferably closer.
There is one basic problem - it is very difficult to see the squirrel - your subject. it needs to be much larger in the frame and pin sharp. If you were at the 200 mm end of your zoom, thats 320 mm actual, you needed either a support or very fast shutter speed to get a sharp image - I suspect shake here rather than a focusing error.
