Looks like nice candid.
I like the positioning of your niece on the side of the frame, and the genuine laughter. I think that half a step back would have allowed you to contain all of her hair and probably all of horse's head on her tee-shirt. That, or a 4:3 format, if your camera can produce it. I won't make a fuss regarding the wall marks, I am just thinking of them as "reportage". A child's smile can make you forget everything else, and that is what matters.

A splendid start, with a lovely model 
Now thats a nice camera! I like the shot overall, - a very pretty girl with a lovely smile. Looks like her face is a little underexposed, - might well be that the reflected light from the white shirt caused the camera to underexpose a bit. A little further from the wall might have blurred it a bit, - but you will take a little while to get used to the camera.

Hi Pablo, yep, coffee stains on my wall, im a heathen
this was taken using one interfit flash head with silver brolly attached to one side, a few degrees tilt, no reflector, but those coffee stains i have no excuse for, i will clean those up when i think about it again

And Willie, wow, love the mod, thank you, i deliberately did not sharpen too much, but you have sharpened it really well, nice job, and the crop. As for wall/subject distance, my bedroom is a bit crowded with boxes full of kiddies of presents right now, supposedly a safe place but now they all know where the xmas presents are kept
