Ok - I'll try again. I visited just now, but accidentally deleted everything! Smile

With this one I really like the fact you've managed to get so close to the bee - having it on a page of maths cuts out clutter (and made me smile!) Smile

I took it into Photoshop Elements 9 (I only know the basics, so I've really not done a lot!).

First of all I took it into 'Enhance > Adjust Color> Remove Color Cast'.
Then 'Enhance > Lighting > Levels'.
After that I went into Quick Edit and slide the bars on 'Shadows', 'Midtones' and 'Highlights' + I gave it a little sharpening.
I went back to main Edit and under 'Filter > Noise > Despeckle' I removed any noise.
After giving it a slight crop (trying to keep as much maths as possible), I played with the 'Dodge' and 'Burn' tools to lighten and darken certain areas.

I hope I have improved the image - all adjustments were minor! Smile

The Bee is not the point of sharp focus in this shot, as you can see by looking at the writing below it, which is much sharper closer to the camera. Can be avoided by being very careful when focusing, and if possible, use a smaller aperture (larger number). The image is underexposed, and may well be that the camera was fooled by light from the paper.

However, the mod is amazing, - makes a world of difference.

regards

Willie

The mod is a huge improvement, and the idea excellent. However, you will never get this right. The bee is just too far out of focus as your plane of focus is obviously forward of the insect. You are under exposed too and that is corrected in the mod. Software sharpening can do quite a bit, but it cannot make the un-sharp sharp.
