(Note to self----I must take plenty rust pics' in the Summer so I have enough to see me through the Winter !!)

Just what I was thinking of. A Scottish King Arthur rides again. Armed with a clothes line lasso...

Excellent composition and use of shallow dof.
Happy New Year, Mick!

Bill
Now just who is it who's been telling you to "Get out more", Mick?
Was it Jan, perhaps? or your daughter?
Or was it the landlord of Leith Dockers' Club?
Seriously, after last winter's weather débâcle I have made certain that I have a stock of photos to use in an emergency, and I tend to plan ahead anyway rather than just posting my latest.
Cracking shot Mick, great textures and tones, I like the composition too.

Top marks for the shot!
Good bit of oxidation, corrosion and the metal is ready to start flaking.
But it looks quite tactile and the colour contrast with the cables looks wonderful!
I'm sure you'll keep us all wondering what you'll find next! Happy New Year to you and your family. IB
A cracker Mick, and well composed using the diagonal splitting the frame. The reference to a sword is fitting.
I am also sifting through archives - winter does not lend itself to always going out to get photos - a good repertoire of archived material is a must! ![]()

Does look rather like a rusty sword! A great image, like the quirky angle ![]()

Mick running out of rust is like a pub (or Dockers' Club) running out of beer!![]()
Unheard of!
Get out there are build up supplies before the seige of winter begins!! (Next winter, of course, not the current one....)

Ha ha, well I like this one Mick
and I do know what you mean about getting plenty during the Summer. Trouble is, when I do that, I tend to upload more because I've got plenty, then run out anyway. My biggest problem though, is putting on weight, so I decided to go on an Acohol Diet. So far, I've lost three Days.

I'd have thought that winter was the time to get rust shots, Mick. Lots of rain to help the process along, & when it's cold & wet, who can be bothered to repair/replace it?

John - contrary to popular belief, the old ones are not the best.
What mick? are you telling us that there is no rust left round your area...Seriously, you'll find some old bolt for us. Now I remember a really nice wreckyard not far from Linlithgow should be plenty there ![]()
Anyhow this washing pole is intriguing, don't the knickers end up all orange if you put them on the top of it ![]()
Another excellent study of rust Mick, I haven't been out and about much lately due to time and bad weather so am having to delve into the archives too
