I'm finally back in Bristol after being stuck up in my home city of Newcastle for an extra 5 days due to flight disruptions and I'm missing good old Geordieland already. On our last day there I took my daughter to the Laing art gallery and we were both inspired by their gallery of old paintings of Newcastle. We ended up visiting the exact view points where a couple of our favourite paintings were painted from, one in Grainger street by Grimshaw being our favourite. It was wonderful to see which buildings still remained and imagine ourselves way back in time.
Inspired by the old and new influences, the dark grungy look to Grimshaws paintings and my own love of textures , this is what I came up with today.
