I went on holiday recently and got this shot using a long shutter time using bulb mode. I think I got it almost right although any tips/advice welcome.

A lovely picture me thinks.
The objects under the lights on the peer looks slightly over exposed from here but nice... the reflecting lamp posts gives a nice feel over the water but, might give it a bit more drama if the water was slightly disturbed... creating that blurred effect.
A bit less foreground I think...

Hope it helps... I'm no pro ![]()
Hello, Chris. An impressive image, lovely colours and reflections. It's so good to see colour in the sky in a night shot. There is a bit of noise present and I feel the far left lamp is very close to the frame edge. Also, the "Daily Cruises" sign spoils it for me. I was tempted to rotate the image to the left to straighten the boat masts but the lamp posts are straight so I decided against it. In my modification, I applied noise removal, cropped some of the blank space and also the lamp and sign, darkened it a bit, reduced the highlights and also painted the white reflections lightly, then selectively sharpened the boat. Only minor tweaks to a very nice picture.
Pamela.
