Lake Inle is in the Shan Province of Burma. It is suffering from the environmental effects of increased population and rapid growth in both agriculture and tourism. During the 65-year period from 1935 to 2000, the net open water area of Inle Lake decreased by a third, with development of floating garden agriculture. This is one of the hotels built on stilts in the Lake. Transport to and from the hotel is provided by motorised canoes! Surprisingly it was free from mosquitoes whilst we were there.

A time of day that you love, your being able to capture the light and colours so well, no matter whether on the Thames or far flung parts of the globe as here.
Lovely composition and of course an interesting narrative which seems to describe the problems faced by so many other spots.
Ronnie.
I find this very telling. The bar area is like a little haven with its lights to invite the weary traveller. But the background waterscape looks so dejected.
Being a bit nit-picky here - I want to skew the top left corner up a degree.
Moira
Awesome Twilight capture Dave, so peaceful.

Trev.
A beautiful scene, with lovely light, Dave. V2's better with the horizon straightened ![]()

A little slice of paradise - a shame that man's encroachment is destroying it.
