A big thank you to Ade, Ed, and Karen for the UA's on yesterday's Dark Green Fritillary, and to everyone else who voted and commented, it's really most appreciated.
Here's another lifer, a Niobe Fritillary from my Spanish trip last month, again from my favourite meadow in Miraflores. I've now photographed nine species of Fritillary in that meadow.
I'm back in Spain for a week at the moment and i'm sorry to say the temperatures are in the thirties

Absolutely top drawer Nigel, you've captured its colours and wing patterns marvellously well. You are as bad as Carol G with regards to rubbing it in about the weather!
Fantastic! That is another one on my wish list. As beautiful as an oriental carpet with a typical wonderful fritillary eye
