Tony and I are volunteers at the Globe Cafe where we meet with International Students, and introduce them to aspects of life in UK
On Monday we had a pancake evening and all had a go mixing, cooking and eating them, as well as finding out about the history and traditions around Shrove Tuesday
Hope you enjoyed yours yesterday if you had some - I have to confess to being very traditional with mine and having fresh lemon and sugar on them
Thanks for looking
Helen

The traditional way is the best, Helen, freshly squeezed lemon juice (even better if picked straight from the treeWink) and a scattering of sugar, delicious Smile. Love your presentation. Carol

I really like this Helen.
Quote: Hope you enjoyed yours yesterday if you had some

Yes, I did have some, but not sure 'some' is the right expression, probably 'over-indulged' would be more appropriate! Sad

Sensible eating tonight I think!

kind regards,

Robin

Agree lemon and sugar is the perfect addition to a traditional pancake. The American ones are very nice but definitely breakfast fodder.

This is a superbly worked tritych Helen.

These appear to be similar to what we call crepes here in the US but probably the batter is more like the one we make in Norway for our thin pancakes, which we like to put butter and jam on or butter and a sugar cinnamon mixture.

Lemon and sugar, chocolate sauce--- still teaching Helen--

Maple syrup here---

The arched text over the triptych is brilliant-- a professional poster I would say!

We like ours with butter and jam! or jam alone (rhubarb & ginger or raspberry) for me!
Helen this is a wonderful triptych and I love how you've done the text.
I should add I'd call these crepes (hence your choice of lemon juice and sugar)
Netta and Joline uploaded images of what we in Scotland call pancakes.
I think you may call them dropscones!
Regional differences!
