This image was captured a couple of years ago whilst walking the beautiful avenues and streets of Buda and Pest. The image shows German Skateboard being filmed jumping from Bulgarian War Memorial in Heros Square. Not only did I find this most disrespectful, but it really made a mockery of the Hungarian people who had paid the ultimate price against the Germans other Countries in both the First and Second World Wars. "The youth of today?"

I do not want to wish to offend anyone by displaying this photographic image, especially our German neighbours with the EU.

Regards Nathan

Great timing, Nathan, but I do agree with you, a total lack of respect by the people crawling/climbing over the beautiful memorial. Carol

Superb shot Nathan, excellent timing and it really works well as a mono. Lack of respect for sure, intentional I doubt it, the youth of today in the main just don't think!!! To wrapped up in their own lives and what they are doing at the time.

Hugh

“Our youth now love luxury. They have bad manners, contempt for authority; they show disrespect for their elders and love chatter in place of exercise; they no longer rise when elders enter the room; they contradict their parents, chatter before company; gobble up their food and tyrannize their teachers.”

Socrates...469 BC – 399 BC

I doubt he knew where he was or that any offence was intended. He was just skateboarding.

Superb timing, damning image. And good PJ.
At the end of the Jubilee street party in June we had a multi-denominational Songs of Praise in the town square. In the middle of a hymn a bunch of youths ambled through the middle of the proceedings, walking across the flower beds. I think everyone was just too amazed to say anything.

An excellent and well times capture, Nathan - as for the lack of respect (Above quote from Socrates...469 BC – 399 BC) it would seem that everything comes in cycles, let us hope we are at the end of this disrespectful time ... Carol

Excellent capture. Budapest is certainly a beautiful town full of impressive monuments. I don't like to see them cheapened by youths that have no idea of history.
Chris

A good action shot but I do agree with you about the lack of respect for others and also the structure itself. Kids of today but this person looks old enough to know better. Good image and well captured.

It's odd you should upload this, as some youth was doing similar on the exterior of Wakefield Cathedral a couple of days ago, but without the skateboard, and my thoughts were the same as yours, how disrespectful. A fine capture, though, Nathan.

A terrific action shot Nathan, it's a pity he couldn't have found somewhere more appropriate to practice his skateboarding skills. We have a couple of skateboard parks locally where youngsters can hone their skills without causing a nuisance to the general public

Nice shot and conversion.
