John, i can't disagree with you, i did think i'd gone too far with this & might well re-edit from scratch at some point
as i said, was more interested in the shapes & doing something different with it

In contrary to EC, I believe you should have "reset" and started over with what seems like a very fine portrait of a gentleman

Have to agree, I'm afraid. You can see it on the folds of his shirt. It's a shame as it's a very good composition of a nice-looking guy.
