This was shot in Mallorca this year, I was laying down on the beach when the sea plane was approaching. As I turned to take the shot the rest just fell into place. The decisive moment.

I think the airplane is a Canadair fire-fighting airplane coming to fill sea water to drop at a fire nearby.

I agree there is lots going on and it is nicely presented in black and white.

I think that in a time fraction of 1/60 later the figure of the airplane would have looked more clearly on the blue sky background , rather than on the cloud as it is now. If my suspicion is correct this is a yellow painted plain with some red areas and it would be clearly visible in the colour version despite the cloud.

C'est la vie.

The award is worthy though.
