Northern Mockingbird
Mimus polyglotto 10 inches

A regular visitor to our feeders, the Mockingbird is a large bird with commanding behavior. We have no idea where they go in the summer but they show up from time to time.

A Huge thank you is due to Oliver (bliba) and Joline (Joline) for User Awards for the Dairy Barn --- most appreciated!

I don't know if we have the same species but we certainly have mockingbirds out here in Southern California.
Nice shot and commentary, Jenn.

So that's what a mocking bird looks like!
So famous because of Harper Lee's book but I've never seen one.
Beautiful image Jenn.

Mockingbirds live in our area year round. They are fearless especially when protecting their nest. I have seen them ward off squirrels, cats, and even hawks. Great image!
