What started out as a "let's see what I can do in Photoshop" day ended up with me learning quite a bit about what's possible with Elements 7.
This started life as two images I liked - one with an interesting FG ( a rather nice close up of some rocks & pebbles in the River Wharfe at Bolton Abbey) and the other with a really nice sunrise ( over Sorrento ). Having a bash at "scene cleaner" in Elements 7 it was obvious that it was a composite & not a very good one at that ! So,undeterred I had a skim through some old photo mags & found an article on creating " night out of day ".
By following that guide and using various gradients, motion blur, brush tools, lens distortion correction filter, dodging and burning and a couple of planets concocted with the LunarCell plug-in I eventually came up with the final image you see here. It's got a couple of flaws where I've cloned the "night sky" in the top corners to cover the lens distortion blank areas but I'm quite chuffed at my "self lesson in Photoshop".......
Having said that,it will probably bomb
Anyways......please try LARGE & F11 and see what you think.
Thanks for your time.

Quote: Which planet did you take this on? A very effective piece of work but it will probably not show up very well on the thumbnails so a lot of people may pass it by. Andy
Thanks Andy, I did think about that and have checked to see if I'm right - the light colour to the FG does show up a little and the colours are intriguing so hopefully people will stop by. I could lighten the FG a bit more but that would spoil the effect.
Thanks for your vote.
