Female House Sparrow sampling the delights of the new tree we have just planted..............they don't miss an opportunity.............by the look of it she had eyes bigger than her belly.................
A most endearing capture of this charming female wonderfully detailed and so very posed Julie. An old Gardener once told me to put orange or lemon marmalade on to your buds to stop them being picked off. Evidentially it is the citrus which the acid in the fruit which the birds do not like.
Fortunately we do not have that problem here - I think An excellent photo Julia !!
Fabulous timing, Julia, looks like you'll have to give the buds some breakfast marmalade and hope that the sparrows don't get a liking for it, too Carol
Terrific timing Julia. Great shot Don
Wonderful. Well captured.
(I recall that, many years ago, a gang ate all my crocuses!)
another marvellous capture Julia
Great shot Julia, love the plumage detail.
Very intimate shot, Julia.
Lovely image Julia - hope your newly planted tree survived the onslaught of the "de-budding" by the sparrow.
