Many thanks for your comments and votes yesterday. Todays Nuthatches were taken in Wareham forest last week, ive not cropped so hard so i wonder if you like it better this way.

A difficult question you pose, Brian: I like both the closer crop and these shots with the bird slightly smaller in the frame equally well.
Think I must leave to others to decide.
But another very fine set, Brian.
Ronnie.

Superb work Brian, great poses, perch and background. I like the spacier composition, as Dave Bartlett would say "PLenty of room for the bird"

For me V 2 is best - in the others there is too much wasted space.

Great images.

Your wondering: I go with Ronnie here. Personally, I like tight-in shots (sometimes even showing only a part of the bird), but when you want to show scale you have to pull out a bit. It's a question of taste and intention in the end. Smile

That is a difficult question Brian. I do admire the detailed shots which you do so very well, but it is rather nice to see a little more of the surroundings from time to time. I really do like them equally.

I like all your bird shots but had thought recently they ARE better not so heavily cropped especially as your backgrounds are generally diffused, this would also apply to some of my flower shots - less is more, if that makes sense. Well done on all three

Every time I have seen a NH they are either upside down or on the floor so to see one in this unique stance is brilliant. Excellent captures and timing mate!GrinGrinGrinGrinGrin

Excellent shots as always. A difficult question, close or or a wider view? it's immaterial, your birds are always so lovely; it's just nice to ring a change now and again!SmileSmileSmile
