Both good but it's V1 for me. Just seems to give the Nuthatch a bit more room in the frame.

I'd be interested to see the original image rather than the square crop.

I do like it, but maybe the angle of the branch just makes the composition more difficult to nail. It is tempting to try to place the branch corner to corner, but unless the bird is of the right size and lands on the exact part envisioned then it becomes difficult to get the image.

Perhaps a less steep angle would allow for the full-frame version, with the crop as an alternative. And just to be different I prefer V2.

A difficult choice, Dean, but on balance I feel the crop in V 2 is more satisfying visually. Whatever, either is a cracker, and a very beautiful shot, the bird so nicely perched between the crops of red berries.

You got berries too then mate Wink Cracking capture with great detail and that nice splash of colour from the berries. I prefer v2, I think that there is a little too much space above the nuttys head in v1.

Superb pose, warm light and terrific detail and colours Dean - not much in it but yes, I think V2 just edges it for me. Congrats on yesterday's EC.

Version two for me too as the space at either side of the berries makes it look less tight and a more considered composition

Thank You ALL for taking the time to comment re my dilema with V1 or V2 !! Also many thanks to Cheryl & Pete for taking time out to join the debate.....I have to be totally honest and confess that V1 was my preference,V2 was the choice of my better half Wink It appears,as in most cases that she who must be obeyed ? In future will certainly be obeyed !!!!
In the meantime I am now subjected to washing dishes for one week !! I shall certainly listen and obey in future Smile

Ps...Many Thanks Pete for the HC...........All comments and votes appreciated.
