Crisp and clear and even! Sylvia
Both good but it's V1 for me. Just seems to give the Nuthatch a bit more room in the frame.
Cracking perch in this one mate, works well
Cracking shot Dean
Superb Dean!!!! i really like this! a beautiful mix of colour and the pose is spot on!!!!
fantastic x x x
brilliant comp cracking detail and colour dean a stunner all the very best for the new year
I'd be interested to see the original image rather than the square crop.
I do like it, but maybe the angle of the branch just makes the composition more difficult to nail. It is tempting to try to place the branch corner to corner, but unless the bird is of the right size and lands on the exact part envisioned then it becomes difficult to get the image.
Perhaps a less steep angle would allow for the full-frame version, with the crop as an alternative. And just to be different I prefer V2.
Beautiful capture Dean - V2 for me !
A difficult choice, Dean, but on balance I feel the crop in V 2 is more satisfying visually. Whatever, either is a cracker, and a very beautiful shot, the bird so nicely perched between the crops of red berries.
V.2 for me, Dean, but both are excellent, as always. Carol
A truly superb shot Dean, great detail and compositition, but I am with Cheryl, I prefer the format of V2.
Both look great to me Dean, superb Nutty, love the perch.
Superb shot, Dean. My preference is No2
Another excellent capture stunning detail.
Super image, well captured, version two for me.
just about excelled yourself this time Dean
Both fine images in their own right.
Methinks that Cheryl has a valid point though
Stunning shot! I prefer version 1
You got berries too then mate Cracking capture with great detail and that nice splash of colour from the berries. I prefer v2, I think that there is a little too much space above the nuttys head in v1.
Everything within the dof Dean and absolutely superb detail and turn of head. Have to prefer the landscape format in V2
A beautiful shot but I like the V2 version.
v2 for me also.lesley
Superb pose, warm light and terrific detail and colours Dean - not much in it but yes, I think V2 just edges it for me. Congrats on yesterday's EC.
V2 by a short head I think Richard is right in V1 there is too much space above the head but two great images
the berries add an extra bonus to this great capture Dean.
All the best foe 2011
Superb! If I had to chose it would be ver 2.
Version two for me too as the space at either side of the berries makes it look less tight and a more considered composition
well taken image!
That is an amazing image - one of my faves of the year
V2 for me also Dean - seems to place the bird perfectly on the branch.
Thank You ALL for taking the time to comment re my dilema with V1 or V2 !! Also many thanks to Cheryl & Pete for taking time out to join the debate.....I have to be totally honest and confess that V1 was my preference,V2 was the choice of my better half It appears,as in most cases that she who must be obeyed ? In future will certainly be obeyed !!!!
In the meantime I am now subjected to washing dishes for one week !! I shall certainly listen and obey in future
Ps...Many Thanks Pete for the HC...........All comments and votes appreciated.
either or, a stunning shot
Not a problem with either both fine images.
Both excellent but IMHO V1 is the best - and congratulations on a well deserved HC - Have a great 2011
lovely shot like the second version the best maybe even a bit more room on the right
Excellent shot and the clarity and detail are superb - #2 my preference by a whisker
Fabulous image Dean.
Great Image Dean, love the perch works well. John
two gem but i prefer v2 because it shows the detail more clearly because it's brighter
Outstanding picture, Dean! Beautifully captured on all levels.
I favour V2 as the composition is more pleasing to the eyes.
I slightly prefer V2 .
Have to agree with Terry, this is outstanding Dean! Immaculately detailed as always, and again excellent use of a wonderful perch.
