I'd be interested to see the original image rather than the square crop.
I do like it, but maybe the angle of the branch just makes the composition more difficult to nail. It is tempting to try to place the branch corner to corner, but unless the bird is of the right size and lands on the exact part envisioned then it becomes difficult to get the image.
Perhaps a less steep angle would allow for the full-frame version, with the crop as an alternative. And just to be different I prefer V2.

V2 by a short head I think Richard is right in V1 there is too much space above the head but two great images
That is an amazing image - one of my faves of the year
Love it
Bridie
Thank You ALL for taking the time to comment re my dilema with V1 or V2 !! Also many thanks to Cheryl & Pete for taking time out to join the debate.....I have to be totally honest and confess that V1 was my preference,V2 was the choice of my better half
It appears,as in most cases that she who must be obeyed ? In future will certainly be obeyed !!!!
In the meantime I am now subjected to washing dishes for one week !! I shall certainly listen and obey in future ![]()
Ps...Many Thanks Pete for the HC...........All comments and votes appreciated.
lovely shot like the second version the best maybe even a bit more room on the right
two gem but i prefer v2 because it shows the detail more clearly because it's brighter
Have to agree with Terry, this is outstanding Dean! Immaculately detailed as always, and again excellent use of a wonderful perch.
