Back from a fantastic whistle stop tour of the Big Apple![]()
I hired me a Sigma 4.5mm circular fisheye for the weekend....OMG, I absolutely love it.
This may not be to everyone's liking but I love the circular image that results. For the moment please ignore the blue fringing round the perimeter. I am currently without post editing software other than Lightroom 3 for processing the RAW files.
Two days, four lenses and 600 shots later...this is the first off the press ![]()
Thanks for taking time to stop, hope someone out there approves....and Dave...sorry about the telephone wires I know how they grate on you![]()

Mike
6am start for this one hence the deep blue sky and wisp of pink cloud, also best time to avoid the crowds![]()

Give us a chance Mike, just 'ad me dinner!
I like the globe effect but it works for me because the NYPD writing anchors the base. The telegraph wires are an integral part of the image, pulling different parts together in a spider web, therefore you're allowed them (this time!). A wonderful colourful image and even the fringing fits in. Well worth the hire, as long as the next 599 aren't all the same ![]()

Glad you had a good time, a fantastic place for photographs.
Dave
Cheers Dave, these weren't particularly easy to compose for many reasons...hand held, pointing skyward whilst trying to frame a circular image with foreground interest and the daytime ones...doing all that quickly with 10 million New Yorkers and tourists brushing past me. Thanks for the support and comments
Mike
Absolutely love this Mike and good on your for trying something different than the usual travel images of the Big Apple. The fisheye is brilliant, can't wait to see the rest!
Chris
PS don't be put off by the lack of votes, keep trying with the creative approach it's what makes photography so interesting and gives great images like this! ![]()

Must agree with Dave on this one Mike. The colours are superb, and what a paperweight it would make if you could 3D it !
