The second image from my not terribly productive Tor Alvie outing at the weekend. A tighter comp on the opposite hillside where the angle of lighting was just highlighting the tree tops. I used the large green conifer to anchor the comp; it would have worked better with a lone deciduous tree in autumn colours but wrong season and wrong plantation! The snow does help separate the trees though. Hand-held at ISO 200.

The answer is blowing in the wind.

The fir seems to be moving but not the spruce?

There's not a lot I can add to your summation, Al, spot on. I have tried this a few times but the sun and snow makes a big difference here.

Thanks Dougie and Dave. I thinks the fir being taller was catching more of the wind, Dougie.
