I know this image is neither one thing nor the other, but I wanted to capture elements of old and new in the one frame.
This is the south transept of St. Giles Cathedral in Edinburgh with the old elements fairly obvious but the new the organ pipes on the right.
The St. Giles organ was installed in 1992 and was built by the Austrian firm of Rieger Orgelbau.
Feel free to tear it to bits..........I'm quite prepared for that, although I do like it myself.

My thanks to all for the kind comments on Wildeve Again.

Ronnie.

A nicely worked angle, Ronnie and the flags pull the two parts of the image together.

With the difficulty of indoor images and capturing stained glass alone, never mind the organ pipes
as well, you've done a pretty good job in exposure Ronnie.
Once again Ronnie, you've gone out on a limb and tried a different angle.
It takes courage to steer away from the safe approach.
Also it takes an open mind to appreciate something different.

Super detail, colour and clarity. Needless to say if this were mine I would adjust it to get the verticals vertical by that way you'd lose most of the flags on the left. Besides, this is your image, not mine and you like it which is what counts.

This is an impressive image, Ronnie - the contrast of the 'new and old', the clarity and detail and, in particular the exposure; you have managed to get the balance spot on between the windows, their surround and the rest of the image!
Excellent work!

Unmistakeable St Giles, was it cool and calm in here, it normally is Ronnie.

St Giles has an aura that I don't feel in many churches. Steeped in the History of Scotland.
