The "wild day lily" or Hemerocallis fulva blooms in abundance this time of year. I don't know how it got here originally, but it is a native of Asia. It is so prolific now in the US and Canada that most people think of it as a native wild flower. Regardless of its history it is a beautiful sight along the roadways and fields, and is still one of my favorites.
