I couldn't resist taking this shot as it makes it look as if the lighthouse rises from the centre of the round house, plus I find the two eyes and mouth on the lighthouse amusing ![]()

. And yes I suppose it is unusual to see one painted black, but it did originally have a very large central section painted white.
The Roundhouse was originally built around the base of the previous lighthouse as accommodation etc for the lighthouse employees ... here is a link for further interesting facts and some old photographs :
