This is another taken at the Remembrance Day parade on Sunday. This old soldier was very keen to lay his own personal tribute to fallen comrades at the War memorial before the Civic parade party arrived and was escorted in his endeavour by a friendly Police Community Support Officer. He had obviously taken great pride in his appearance looking very smart for the occasion and I was struck by the contrast between him and the PCSO in her uniform. He really needed an overcoat as he looked looked very cold ~ I was cold and I was better wrapped up than him!

No. 2 is a mono conversion with just some strategic colour brought back.

I love No2 photographically with the selective colouring, but they both tell a moving story.

A chance to wear his medals with pride Albert.Perhaps he thought they would not look as effective on an overcoat !! A well observed and taken image.

A very touching candid. Love the direct eye contact you got in this shot. I do like the mono best, for reducing this to the essence, and getting rid of that distracting neon uniform color.
I heard on the news the other day that we only have one Veteran left from WWI in the US and he is 107. I believe they mentioned there are 4 vets left in the UK.

Can't remeber who, but someone else has uploaded a picture using the same idea today- namely mono soldier with the medals coloured. I really like the idea.
So v2 for me Albert
