Shot from almost on the floor using my trusty Gorillapod, this is another image from my recent trip to see Antony Gormley's 'Sound II' at Winchester Cathedral's crypt. Thanks for all the great feedback and attention the previous version got...
SUperb shot, like the reflections and lighting
Stunning and superb!!! Deserves much attention. Sylv.
Wonderful reflections Dave and so well positioned for the light, did you add the shaft from the window? Either way it's a fab image!
It's one heck of a photogenic location and once again you've done it full justice here Dave. The low viewpoint adds drama and the reflection balances the shot out very nicely.
You can't kid a kidder though and I'm assuming you've added the light beam digitally. I can see why you've done it as it does highlight the figure beautifully but it does'nt quite "look right" to me. That's more of a technical niggle though as the overall effect is good and it's a quite stunning image which I could wish was mine.
Excellent. It's a very striking composition.
Fabulous shot and reflections.
Wow, A~ real beauty. Very hard to find fault with this
Very impressive - I love the almost painterly quality of the colours and textures in the vaulted ceiling.
Great overall effect, not sure about the ray of light.
I need to get back to this location!
ultimate reflection amazing
A stunning image.
Stunning viewpoint and reflections
Really, really well composed, exposed...everything!
you lucky thing, stunning work
Stunning shot. Love the reflection.
Interesting view Dave. Shot threw the bars I assume?
This is beautiful Dave.Classic comp and light.
Many thanks indeed for all the great comments you've added to this piece. I did add a 'Digitally Manipulated' tag to this one, as I had added the shaft of light as an after-thought. It seemed to fit the situation quite well, and so I felt justified. Hope it didn't spoil the effect knowing that, but thanks for all the support...
Just luv this image so much, class all the way
Cheers Victor, always nice to get feedback from you...
Superb image Dave, wonderfully composed and great use of the reflections; a winner.
Winchester Cathedral certainly is outstanding, love the compo' and light with this image
You've certainly made the most of this location, Dave. Good light and use of the reflections. Fine work indeed.
Superb piece of work, an excellent image.
Thanks for the additional comments from Rende, Cazzb, Dave & Annette, as always - much appreciated...
great view point and super sharp reflection like glass.
Many thanks Darren, it seems to have hit the spot quite well. I'm pleased you liked it. Cheers...
You really have got the best out of this amazing location. This is a stunning picture and I'm sure that if Anthony Gormly saw it he would insist that they kept the crypt flooded at all times.
It was great to meet you at Focus on Sunday.
Many thanks for the kind words as always Eric, and I wish we'd all have had more time for a natter. Maybe I'll see you on a mini-meet sometime...
A great shot. A great manipulation.
Thank you Frank, for the kind owrds of support. GLad you liked it...
