at Waulkmill Bay, Orkney, a few months ago.
Lovely patterns as the tide went out, figures enjoying a beach walk were a bonus.

Lovely sweeping diagonals Malcolm and some nice the light. The excited dog running through the water is very nice, I hope he was friendly.

At first I thought it was a light snow on the ground. Nicely composed image............Sandy

Glad it was taken a few months ago - they'd either be blown off their feet or frozen to the beach if it was recent. Another lovely long-lens landscape Malcolm, concentrating on pattern and form. The figures break up the geomoetry and put it in context nicely.

The light and patterns that you manage to capture in your beach and seascapes are always a joy to behold: another excellent image, the people in silhouette against the bright sand and water, and with that beautiful water channel curving through the scene.

Wouldn't be the same without the figures, Malcolm. They give scale and enhance, in a way, the isolation shown in the remainder of the image. Great spot and comp.

Brilliant shoreline. I love the dog in the water and the lady in the sea is brave. It looks freezing.

Ronnie says it all so well. The shapes, tones and textures are lovely, and the little bit of human and animal action is a perfect addition to the scene.

Thanks for all votes & comments.
I was happily taking pattern shots when the figures appeared - possibly father, daughter & three lively dogs, so I got an extra series with a long zoom lens. Sea would have been very cold in spite of brief sunshine - usually horizontal rain in Orkney.

Ronnie could not have put it any better, this is a beautiful beachscape and the inclusion of the couple with their dogs is a magic touch
