a grotty owl with a rusty nose!

Annette has beaten me to it, Mick: I too was reminded of staring owl's eyes.

Still managed to get a touch of your favourite subject in the frame though.
Marvellous detail and textures, the webs an added bonus.
Not posting tonight......had a long trip up to Bruar (nr. Blair Atholl) and back yesterday and have nothing ready.

Great minds indeed, the owl sprung immediately to mind. Fabulous textures as always.
Definitely an owl, though it has obviously been sitting there for a goodly while with the number of spider's threads that we can see

He even has a furrowed brow!
Remember, when you start seeing faces, it's not long before those nice young men in their clean white coats are knocking at your door...

I was so taken with the shapes on the tree I nearly missed the rust well composed image I was thinking more "cobwebby" re this shot but having read some comments above can also see the owl Ronnie and Annette speak of with the rusty nose

A very wise old owl, Mick, though a bit set in his ways if those cobwebs are really to be believed.
His right eye, in particular, reminds me of the froth on you Guinness after you have stirred it with your finger.

I thought these were limpets when I saw the thumbnail. The detail and textures in the wood are terrific
