Just a tiny circle of rust here,
but I did think it made for the ''button nose'' !!

Annette has beaten me to it, Mick: I too was reminded of staring owl's eyes.
Great minds think alike, eh?
Don't answer that one.
Still managed to get a touch of your favourite subject in the frame though.
Marvellous detail and textures, the webs an added bonus.
Not posting tonight......had a long trip up to Bruar (nr. Blair Atholl) and back yesterday and have nothing ready.
Ronnie.

You must have had the extra sensitive setting on your G11's rustometer Mick, to spot this one ! Terrific.

I could only see the eyes when I first looked and thought what no rust, then as I scrolled down all was revealed.

Definitely an owl, though it has obviously been sitting there for a goodly while with the number of spider's threads that we can see Smile

A very wise old owl, Mick, though a bit set in his ways if those cobwebs are really to be believed.
His right eye, in particular, reminds me of the froth on you Guinness after you have stirred it with your finger.
Smile

And those eyes look VERY surprised. They're like, "You're gonna varnish me with WHAT now?!"

And the expression has remained ever since...

Without the owl stories here MickSmile
a great shot a real 'hoot'
and did you know that many people if the want to 'kill off' a tree
they hammer nails into the bottom of the trunk, to slowly kill
sad huh?

Wonderful find Mick!
The "eye" on the right looks like an ammonite fossil
The "eye" on the left looks like one of my burnt pizzas
The bits of white are they snails trails?
And the rusty nose id the "Piece de Resistance" Bravo!
