Thank you Barbara! Walking sometimes can be dangerous thereabouts, those dogs don't look so innocent when you are nearby, they can be quite fierce and chase you half a mile.

Very different to yesterday's photograph: no risk of mistaking the terrain for certain areas of English upland! Though sheep are sheep pretty much everywhere, the sheep dog is very different to ours and looks fearsomely strong.
Once again your composition makes excellent use of the lie of the land, while the shepherd's face has been illuminated at just the right moment.

Bill

Interesting that this was taken from your car, so from relative warmth and comfort - as I am viewing it. It's a way of life that probably has changed little over the years, and the image has a detached feel.
That light really is wonderful.

You didn't get out of the car -- and you still got this great comp.? Very nicely done. This shot is almost Biblical (except for the car thing).
I really like the light on the man's face. If there are more of these, I look forward to seeing every shot.

I can imagine this shepherd experiences a cold hard life through the winter months up here on the plateau. Wise to stay in the car and shoot from thereWink.
