We went lane bashing today around Lancashire and just as we were stopped for a brew on Waddington Fell the sun came out and lit up the fields beautifully. The green may look nuclear but that is exactly how it looked.

Hope you like it, thanks for looking. All feedback welcome.

Went for a square crop from the LHS, and played around with contrast, colour balance and sharpness to try get a more dramatic end-result. Of course, picture quality suffered for it but if you have the original you might consider going in that direction and see if you like the end-result for yourself. I think a square-crop has a bit more impact with this landscape as it's pretty similar across - the square highlights the contrast between sky and land better in my opinion.

Thanks for the idea Alistair. I did toy with a square crop but to get rid of the bright area on the left. In the end I left it definitely landscape to maximise the feeling of space. Yours has drama but I feel you have lost the contrast between the light on the fields and moodiness of the sky. Interesting take though.

Cheers

Ian

I like this as you presented it which gives that wonderful feeling of space. Also your "nuclear" green is just perfect.
Joan.

I understand your views Ian - mine was just a mod based on my take on the image. It did lose that element in fact - agree with you there.
