Once in a lifetime!

Those of you who follow me will know that I had the great privilege of attending the opening ceremony of the 2012 London Paralympics.

As I reflect on 2012 I realise that this was literally a once in a lifetime opportunity, and for that opportunity I am forever indebted to my daughter Louise who obtained the ticket and invited me along.

The evening was an anticipatory celebration for competitive people from all over the world, organisers and game makers, and a wonderful audience who enjoyed every moment. I feel so special to have been one member of that huge body of people.

Here we see everyone, athletes, performers, game makers and audience as we neared the climax. I was and am proud to be British and just a tiny part in this hugely successful occasion.

I wish Rio every success in 2016 - they have a hard act to follow - I hope and pray that they succeed.

I wish everyone every blessing for 2013.
