... till the butterflies will be back. The days are getting longer , back to work in the icy fog made me dream of spring. those Heath Fritillaries (Melitaea athalia) are usually the first fritillaries of the year. Taken last June.

Many thanks for your generous votes and comments on my first goldfinch. Special thanks to Brian for the UA, was really chuffed Smile

I was once told never to wish for time to go bye, because one day you would not have any left...

A fantastic high quality, superbly composed image Annette.

A super close up Annette, the detail and colours have been perfectly recorded. According to UK Butterflies website several species were sighted on New Years Day when we had a sunny start to 2013

Think I'm with Nathan in not wishing the time away!
Good to see butterflies though and even better to read Ed's report that
some have already been seen. So it's not all doom and gloom.

Though I don't really want to wish the time away, I do think there is a lot to be said for hibernation! Tongue Glorious butterfly image. Only just realised this is the 30th click and your well deserved RC.

I'm looking forward to spring also and all the monarchs coming through on their migration route to Canada.

A good shot of this flutterby, with it being sharp where it counts most: the antennae and the head.
