The Barn Owl (tyto alba)
This time a rather 'butter fingered' or more properly perhaps 'butter beaked' Barn Owl who seemed to be having difficulties co-ordinating the transfer of his lunch from the trunk to his beak. He managed in the end. !!![]()

The bird is, of course, a captive creature, part of a collection, and obviously his food has to be provided for him. I can assure you all that the mouse was well and truly dead before being given to him.
Hope you will enjoy viewing.
Delighted once again and of course most appreciative for all the c/c;s given to the Vulture and particular thanks are due to Steve (Sparrowhawk) for the UA.

your barn owl is about as daft with the mouse as my tomcat Elrond. Do owls also bring them in the kitchen to let them run?
Whoah.... Bit gruesome..... But as a meateater who am ito say..
Ello Ron.... love this...what a capture!!!
We've recently had a barn owl appear on the outskirts of the village..it sits on the gate entrance to a paddock field..half a mile from our house I guess...seen it twice this week......beautiful bird.

Love it Ron, so different from the normal and the timing is superb,
fab detail too and I'm still smiling looking at the expression on the face
......HNY,
Geoff.
fantastic Ron, not much hope for me if you do this![]()
A terrific capture of this clumsy owl, you've timed this one to perfection. It was a good job your camera hands were steadier than this birds beak and general co-ordination skills as you'd have ended up with a blurry out of focus shot!![]()
