A quick snap yesterday taken in a lull from watching coverage of the final day of the Olympics.
I think everyone involved in the organisation of London 2012 deserves a big pat on the back, as do all the competitors from every country taking part.
And didn't the members of Team UK acquit themselves so magnificently? Very well done to all of them!
As for the opening and closing ceremonies.......well, not my cup of tea, but I guess that's just proof that I am even longer in the tooth than I'd like to admit.
My thanks for all the nice comments on Foxglove......much appreciated.
Ronnie.

Fabulous shot of your roses, as zingy as the athletes! Wonderful games and coverage but didn't go much on the closing ceremony! But love your roses!!!
Susan
A winning combination again Ronnie, you do flowers so very well my friend.

Stunning against blue. Great shot Ronnie. Yes great pat on the back to all concerned and particularly the volunteers. I loved the opening ceremony and the closing really rocked for me. Highlights for me were John Lennon and Queen. Roll on the Paralympics now. Looking forward to that too. Pity those competitors couldnt share the same ceremonies too. Paul
Beautiful image Ronnie, fabulous colours beautifully captured and really works well against the blue sky.

Your image is lovely Ronnie. On the Olympic note I have to say that both ceremonies were outstanding. I loved it. It was indeed a party of parties !! ![]()

Very beautiful and colourful, and contrasts well against that wonderful blue sky, Ronnie ![]()
Think I'm the only person in Britain to have avoided it all, opening, middle bit, and closing! ![]()

What an amazing looking rose... only the buds gave it away for me
Ronnie mate I love this as much as the black background, this is as nature intended! Where did the blue sky come from, glad you brought up the Olympics, as sport nuts, we loved every moment of them, and we are so proud of the British Team as far as the opening and closing ceremonies go! My Wife and I did not understand what this had to do with sport, 90% of it we did not understand and we are British, what the rest of the world thought is anyone's guess, on this part a big let down.
Regards
Trev.
Excellent colour contrast, Ronnie, and perfectly placed in the frame with a lovely low pov.

Nice bit of light and colour from the dark side Ronnie pleasure to view...agree the organisers and the 78,000 volunteers did a grand job indeed as did our Athlete's as for the ceremonies not my cup of tea also so i had a wee cointreau and ice hmmm you cant be that long in the tooth if you can still remeber them ![]()

For a 'Quick snap' that's a cracking shot Ronnie. The colours are excellent. As for the 'Closing Ceremony' the best bit for me was the Freddie Mercury section, with some of the rest very disappointing. The Stadia and organisation were superb as were the volunteers.
Ray
agree with Ray re quick shot - your best work yet IMHO
Beautiful colours.
I am just getting over the lack of Olympics! I thought it was all great. The opening closing ceremonies are unique events to stage and I admire the courage of those taking responsibility for them. I feel that I am in a minority as I enjoyed both of them although I agree that they were a bit quirky in places.

Orange on Blue
A colour combination too good to be true
Just what we've come to expect from the master of flower photography
