Gosh…I didn’t think the rust in yesterday’s upload was significant enough otherwise I would’ve mentioned Mick and the RAS
And I didn’t know Mick was an ex railway engineer until Ed said so. So it was a sortuva double whammy…cool ![]()
Thanks for the response, people.

Now here’s something from the archives – August 2009 – taken at HortPark. ‘Twas initially the dragonfly which attracted me but then my interest switched to the shadow. Especially the orangey bit in the shadow.
If the ground hadn’t all those stones, the shadow would’ve been awesome, I reckon.
Never mind…the dragonfly is pretty ![]()

A cracking shot of this colourful dragonfly Andrew, I like the shadow and the spots of rust
That shadow would have been even more amazing, Andrew. Impressive insect, well captured.

Super diagonal composition, lovely subject, very special shadow.
Lovely colours captured on the dragonfly with nice detailing
The diagonal is excellent, as is the shadow. Fantastic, in fact.
When I saw the thumbnail I was sure you had used a slab of Gruyère cheese as a base for the rusty damsel fly - a master-stroke if ever there was one![]()
Regards
Bill
Gruyere? I'll head for the fridge in a minute!
A fantstic background and full marks for including the rust with the spectacular damselfly.
I was very impressed with yesterday's shot btw - only I had already given my award ![]()
Fabulous capture, well worth viewing large to appreciate the detail.
