Railings in the sun, converted to black and white in photoshop.
Nice textures & tones, I can see why you wanted to capture them.
I would like them even better without the shadow though.
Nice shot, Eric. interesting pattern and well captured.
realy fantastic tones... well done
Amazing pattern effect. I like the tonal range and the lighting.
Well spotted. Very effective work.
Love the abstract feel to this. Works well in B&W with those shadows.
Hi Eric,perfect b/w,macro work,abstract shot and title.Love it.Take care.Ann
Excellent patterns and repeats Eric, had to be B&W for this one!
clever abstract image - like ths strong use of recurring pattern. Works well in B&W. Plenty of contrast
Hi Eric. Sorry for my lack of comments on your extraordinary images – therefore I shall try to redeem myself by providing you with an in-depth comment. “Extraordinary” is an appropriate word indeed to describe this image. At first viewing as a thumbnail, I did think it might have been a pipe organ shot from an inventive viewpoint. However, now, after reading your description the image becomes even more surreal!
That “magic eye” of yours has captured one of the most fascinating images I think I have ever seen! It is certainly an abstract – there is no doubting that, but what is even more amazing is the fact that no digital manipulation is involved. The conversion to black and white really does add to the surrealist imagery, as it brings out far more detail. I love the way the vertical lines – interrupted by those bizarre waves then lead into a completely different, almost 3D effect, as they re-emerge appearing to introduce that new perspective.
As well as the changing perspective, the tonal qualities alter dramatically due to the effect of the strong sunlight. The shadows also create more intriguing shapes, especially in the contrast between the diagonal and the wave like shades. You have captured a wonderful mixture of features in this shot, and I still shake my head in disbelief to think you actually “saw” such an awesome image in the first place.
You have mastered the Art of “seeing the unseen” – for want of a better phrase – and always photograph it in exactly the right way. This is astonishing photography Eric, and as I have a particular fondness for “abstracts”, I can appreciate this composition to the full.
Another one of your signature shots, and one of the best. There are enough repeats to make it interesting and enough variation to keep it alive.
A splendid abstract.
This is a very eyecatching image Eric and all the more so for being in B&W
Absolutely fabulous! Well seen and captured. Pam
This one has kept me looking - such interesting patterns - love it.
Interesting abstract Eric...I deliberately avoided looking at your content quotes until I had worked out for myself what the image was...I looked and looked and looked and then it clicked
A remarkable image that takes the everyday object and turns it into an art form - great stuff!
An excellent capture!
looks like organ pipes, terrific spot and capture
Done it again Eric, I would never have even noticed this shot to capture it myself but it's superb. The use of shadow is amazing and making it B&W is the icing on the cake.
By the way have you looked it it rotated 90 degrees clockwise, it becomes a totally different image.
Many thanks for all the good feedback on this one, much appreciated.
Yes, I had a look at that before uploading this version, Malcolm. In fact, this one is already rotated 180 and I have another version in line with your suggestion.
Brilliant shot - like an optical illusion - the total lack of a sense of scale is superb.
Great shot, youve got a good eye for the unusual!,well done.
Another stunner, your use of verticals and diagonals is spot on as usual and the composition first class.
Well spotted and handled, a great pattern here

Excellent abstract Eric, this is a really strong image. As Ken above, I thought it was organ pipes in the thumbnail.

Glad you think so, Kin, good to hear your opinion.
Stunning shot Eric, I also thought it was a pipe organ. Visually intriguing shot.
excellent abstracted image, well seen and executed, guddun.
Cheers Nev and Mick, good to hear from you both.
love this image.
Good to hear from you Nathan.
Nice...I like the vertical lines and how they just bend, like they're collapsing from their own weight. Nice shadows that accentuate the shapes. Well done.
Thank you Richard, I'm pleased you like it.
