Its a long way off but I liked the fact I was able to catch it on the wing and in the wild. Taken near Aviemore at Rothiemurchus fishery in July. There is actually two of them although the other is nearly lost due to the dof.

C&C always welcome Smile

One of my ambitions is to see an Osprey in the flesh, Kin, (birdwatchers down here in East Anglia claim to have seen one recently...it must have flown off course), but in the meantime this will do very nicely indeed. The large version allows the viewer sufficient detail, while the expanse of landscape around it provides vital environmental context. The dark foreground hill gives great balance.

thanks for that Ian, this is one for the connoisseurs I think and I'm so very glad you like it Smile I got a few frames off but I liked this one as the markings are very clear and unmistakably an Osprey.
Actually I'm quite chuffed with myself in managing to capture these birds

Good shot Kin, lucky to be in the correct spot, Canon make a very good 600mm lens, it's only a few grand, how about we buy one between us?

All the very best my avian snapper,
Dougie

Great capture Kin, really marvellous camera work to get this so sharp. Like how the dark edge of your hilltop contrasts with the light tone of the rest giving such a great feeling of height and depth.
Rgds., Jim.
P.S. We have a few nesting around here in summer, great to watch them fishing!
