This is a cropped detail of a disused waterwheel from a mill on the Isle River in southwest France. I enhanced the colours slightly to bring back the slightly washed-out brickwork. ISO 400, f7.1
I find great beauty in things like this, there was once great power in these wooden paddles.

I had to open this up to see what it was. Well worth it too, I love the way the colours and textures work. Good shot!
