I was having a square crop day day. That's my excuse rather than an impatient waiting family not giving me time to explore compositions! A fishing boat on the shore of Loch Insh, near Aviemore. There were a couple of hopeful anglers but I don't imagine this boat will see much action until the spring now.

It looks fairly high and dry there, Alan: the sunshine on the winter grasses is beautiful but there's an element of coolness here too with that snow sprinkling on the high tops.
I do like using square crops for landscapes......where appropriate it can be very effective, as here.
Ronnie.

Text book composition, Al, beautiful scenery and wonderful light. Aesthetically the plastic boat doesn't rock mine though Tongue. It looks a bit out of place as opposed to an old wooden one in more muted colours. Technically very good, and as a personal opinion, the comment on content content you are free to ignore totally.

Thanks Ronnie and Dave.
I agree about the boat Dave but there's not enough space in my pack for one, what with all the rocks... WinkGrin

Classic composition, well seen and captured, exposure spot on and no burnt out highlights on the boat, well done.

Cheers Christine and Darryl, controlling the highlights on the boat meant a bit of work processing the RAW file so that everything else was the correct exposure too!

Lovely Alan. The white boat contrasts with the golden grass but is balanced by the distant snow on the mountains. Excellent work.

A beautiful scene Alan, i really love the contrast between the warmth of the golden grass and the snow capped peaks and the boat ties the extremes together

Hi al cheers for your comments and votes , like this pic , scenery is fantastic but being hyper critical I also think the boat is too pristine , maybe u should have trashed it up a bit when know one was looking ( only joking) Kel .
